I continue to share my legal commentary for television. In the new broadcast, we analyzed a very unusual but illustrative legal incident.
An unknown person decided to use the hood of someone else’s new car as a bird feeder and scattered bread crumbs on it. The birds pecked at the treat, but as a result, damaged the car’s paintwork. You can’t bring birds to justice, but the author of this “idea” will have to bear responsibility.
On the air of the “Our Morning” program on ONT, I gave a legal assessment of this case and explained:

how the damage to another person’s property by the offender will be legally qualified;

in which cases scratches on a car result in administrative liability, and in which cases criminal liability, and how the amount of damage affects this;

whether the offender will have to pay property damages to the owner.
